The Opera Group is one of 110 new arts organisations (out of 695 organisations in total) chosen to become part of Arts Council England’s (ACE) new National Portfolio Scheme, guaranteeing the award-winning company regular funding over the next three years. While the company has received Arts Council project funding since 2003, this is the first time the company has been included in ACE’s national revenue funding portfolio.
The company will receive a total of £1,035,000 between 2012 and 2015 to carry out an ambitious programme of work, including new operas by Edward Rushton, David Bruce and Olga Neuwirth, unusual site specific events and an ‘Incubator’ to develop future operas.
